KANSAS (Arbeitstitel) [Ausschnitt]

Here's an exclusive preview of my latest painting activities. You see an aperture of KANSAS (working title). Properties are huge: extraordinary 74,8 inches squared!! Heute gibt es nun endlich einen exklusiven Einblick in meine aktuelle Arbeit. Abgebildet ist ein Ausschnitt von KANSAS (Arbeitstitel). Das gesamte Werk ist ein großformatiger Titel bei einer quadratischen Form mit 190 cm Seitenlänge!! Nähere Ausführungen und eine Gesamtaufnahme gibt's bei Fertigstellung des Bildes. Der Termin hierfür ist noch vor Jahresende anberaumt.

HOUSTON

This picture is an imprint of a still taken from 1984's "Paris, Texas"-Movie by brilliant german director Wim Wenders. If you have been offered the opportunity to watch this movie, just do it. Great pictures, amazing colours. This still is a view from a parking desk in the city of Houston. Enjoy it at a measure of 39,37 inches horizontally while the vertical limit is at 31,5 inches. Unfortunately this one is not for sale 'cause my girlfriend grabbed it just after the finish. Good news: My girlfriend doesn't want that one anymore; it doesn't fit in her living room. So i've got the opportunity to offer this one to you for the amount of (just) €280,00! Be quick.

Das Werk ist quasi eine Pause einer Einstellung im Film "Paris , Texas" vom deutschen Ausnahmeregisseur Wim Wenders aus dem Jahr 1984. Wer die Möglichkeit hat, dieses außergewöhnliche Drama mit u.a. Nastassja Kinski in einer Hauptrolle auf Video zu erwischen, sollte sich dieses farbenprächtige Roadmovie keinesfalls entgehen lassen! Das Bild zeigt einen Blick von einem Parkdeck in Houston. Die Maße: 100 cm breit; 80 cm hoch. Leider steht das Werk nicht zum Verkauf - meine Freundin hat es sich gleich nach Fertigstellung unter den Nagel gerissen :o) Update: Meine Freundin ist der Meinung, dass das Bild doch nicht zu der Tapete ihres Wohnzimmers passt. Deshalb bin ich in der glücklichen Position, Dir/Euch dieses Werk zum Spottpreis von nur €280,00 anbieten zu können! Wer zuerst kommt, malt zuerst.

ON THE SHORE

Do you like sea-gulls? I totally do!!! They are the Punks of the air - little bit stupid but always in the front row when food is serving.. So this is an remittance work commissioned by my girlfriend. She likes to get her old - by the way: not very inspiring - painting off the wall of her bedroom. Well, and for that reason she asked me to paint a picture which fits more than the removed one. The only condition was that the picture has to contain at least one or two sea-gulls; that's because she likes them too. And so I did this piece of art - in relatively unusual dimensions: height is 50 cm (19,69 inches) while the width has the amount of amazingly 205 cm (which are 80,71 inches!). Isn't that crazy ;o) As I mentioned the role of my girlfriend into that, it is clear that this one couldn't go out to anyone because it's already hanging on her bedroom wall. Sorry for that but I thought that it was necessary to post it because I like this one a quite more than my other outputs.

Wer mag Möwen? Ich auf jeden Fall! Möwen sind die Punks der Lüfte - zwar ein wenig bescheuert, aber wenn's um's Fressen geht, immer in der ersten Reihe zu finden.. Das hier gezeigte Bild war eine Auftragsarbeit meiner Freundin. Selbige hatte das uninspirierte Bild in ihrem Schlafzimmer satt und wünschte sich eine quasi in sich ruhende Komposition mit der einzigen Maßgabe, dass mindestens eine oder zwei Möwen Berücksichtigung finden. Letztendlich sind es sogar drei geworden..;o) Das ungewöhnliche Format von insgesamt 205 cm Breite bei gerade einmal 50 cm Höhe gab mir die Freiheit, eine gewisse horizontal gedämpfte Stimmung zu erzeugen. Wie ich schon erwähnte, ist dieses Bild bereits in erster Hand und deshalb nicht käuflich erhältlich - es gefällt mir aber recht gut, weshalb ich mich entschloss, ihm einen Post zu widmen.

TRANSIT II

So this is the follow-up to 'TRANSIT I'. Such a long time had passed since I released a fresh painting. Although it's finished now! It's format is quite unusual - you're facing a width of 59,06 inches while the height is only 11,81 inches. Interpretation on this is left to your imagine. Best thing about is, that it is still available! €95,00 is the (bargain) price. Sorry, I forgot to mention that it was done with acrylic paint on canvas.

Lang, lang ist's her, dass ich hier ein neues Bild präsentieren konnte - aber hier ist es nun: der Nachfolger von 'TRANSIT I'. Das Außergewöhnlichste daran ist sicher das Format - 150cm Breite sehen sich einer Höhe von lediglich 30cm gegenüber. Das Wichtigste ist: man kann es kaufen! Für nur €95,00 verlässt es mein Haus. Ach so, Acrylfarbe auf Leinwand auf Keilrahmen.

SELBSTPORTRAIT PROFILSCHNITT PREUSSISCHBLAU

The quality of this work shown is of very poor as I know. I reproduced this by making partly scans of it because the heights is about 27,56 inches facing a width of 11,81 inches. I made this one as a present for my mother to her birthday three years ago. It shows me in the profile sight; surrounded by some colourful expressions. Surely made with acrylic paint on canvas and - of course -not available.

Die Qualität der hier gezeigten Reproduktion ist zugegebenermaßen etwas dürftig - das Ding passte einfach nicht komplett unter meinen Scanner..;o) Dieses Teil war ein Geburtstagsgeschenk für meine Mutter vor drei Jahren und zeigt meinen Gesichtsprofilschnitt umrahmt von fast schon psychedelich anmutenten Farbvariationen. Wie fast alles von mir auf Leinwand auf Keilrahmen gefertigt - Acrylfarbe war hierbei das gängige Medium. Die Größe ist etwas außergewöhnlich mit den Abmaßen 30cm x 70cm. Natürlich nicht mehr erhältlich.

NEBULÖSES C

'Nebulous C', for which is this one named for, is just another miniature - following the heights of 3,94 inches by a widhts of 5,91 inches. It's mainly referred to the magnificent work of dutch painter PIET MONDRIAN! Piet is for me - for my poor skills to painting art - one of my very FAVOURITES! With his conducting of geomatrical forms he has overwhelmed me to this very point. So it's no wonder that this one shows another miniature done first by pencil, then using felt tip pen to do the lines - but the background itself is made from acrylic paint. The whole work is made on canvas on wooden plate. Measures of this one as like almost all of my miniatures: 5,91 inches wide by respecting a heights of 3,94 inches. Well see, this one is still available!!! If you beg this one to be YOURS, you only have to pay 25,00 € to me!!! Well that's the best money can buy...;o)

'Nebulöses C' ist in erster Linie von einem meiner unbestreitbaren Vorbilder inspiriert - namentlich dem Holländer PIET MONDRIAN! So stellt diese Miniatur in der Größe 15cm x 10cm zwar eine Reminiszenz an o.g. Künstler dar, vermag dessen 'geometrische' Genialität jedoch nur in sehr rudimentären Ansätzen wider zu geben. Der Hintergrung ist mit Acrylfarbe angefertigt, während die Strukturen im Vordergrund erst mit Bleistift vorgezeichnet und anschließend in einer Mischung aus Fineliner und Acrylfarbe vollendet wurden. Hej, das Teil gibt es noch zu kaufen! 25,00 € wäre der Kaufpreis für diese Miniatur, die mit auf Malplatte aufgespannter Leinwand daher kommt.

HARVEST

'Harvest', for this, is a very less interesting picture. I had done this through my 'starting phase'. The reproduction also isn't any of that kind that you would call "focused right"...;o) Although it isn't available - was a present. Width is 11,81 inches while the heights is 9,84 of this measure. It's done with oil colour on canvas.

'Harvest', zu deutsch 'Ernte', ist eines der eher vernachlassungswerten Wekr von mir. Davon abgesehen, dass die Reproduktion sehr zu wünschen übrig lässt, stellt diese Arbeit auch nicht mehr als eine Studie während meiner sehr frühen Phase dar. Wie auch immer, die Diskussion um die Erhältlichkeit des Bildes stellt sich hier glücklicherweise nicht - es ist bzw. war ein Geschenk und ist damit 'out of order';o) Damals noch in Ölfarben gemalt hat dieses Bild auf Leinwand die Maße 30cm x 25cm.

FAUNA

Well, this is my very first! Somehow, this one was planned as an 17-piece or moreever constructed painting - but this is (unfortunately) what's left of this: a four piece artwork made of four additional pieces drawing oil colour on canvas which was pinned on cardboard. Seize of each from this four pieces is 7,87 inches squared and it is still available for the amount of just 80,00 €.

Okay - das hier war das erste Bild, dass ich je gemalt habe. Ursprünglich war es als 17-teilige Komposition gedacht - was aber irgendwie schief ging und deshalb in dieser vierteiligen Arbeit vollendet wurde.. Die Maße der einzelnen Malplatten sind 20cm im Quadrat und als Farbe habe ich Öl benutzt. Das Werk ist nach wie vor für 80,00 € erhältlich.

HOCHDRUCKGEBIET

The title of this work means 'anticyclone' in English. Another miniature made in mixed technique by using oil colours for the background and acrylic paint for the row of houses below the sky shown. Width is 5,91 inches and heights is 3,94. It's made on canvas on wooden plate. Available for €25,00.

Eine weitere meiner Miniaturen. Der Hintergrund ist hier in Ölfarben gearbeitet, während ich für die Objekte im unteren Teil des Bildes Acrylfarben verwendet habe. Die Details: 15cm x 10cm; Leinwand auf Malplatte; 25 Euro teuer.

DAS WASSERRAD (SPACHTELSTUDIE)

This one polarizes me from those who had seen the picture so far! My opinion: just like the term in brackets said - it's just a study; far away from any inspiration while making this work. But people came to my place, watched it and surprisingly liked it much more than others posted before in this blog. Couldn't imagine...anyway. The details are: made with acrylic paint on canvas which followes a horizontal measure of 11,81 inches while the height is 9,45 inches. It's still available for the amount of just €28,00.

Das hier gezeigte Bild wirkt zwischen meinen Freunden und mir polarisierend. Während ich es als - wie der Titelzusatz in Klammern schon sagt - Studie betrachte, habe ich von denen, die es bisher im Original gesehen haben, fast euphorische Bestätigung (wes auch immer...) erfahren. Für mich rätselhaft, aber na ja. Die Maße: 30cm in der Breite bei einer Höhe von 24cm. Wiederum mit Acrylfarbe auf Leinwand auf Keilrahmen angefertigt und für den 'Studien'-Preis von 28,00 EUR erhältlich.

ÜBIGAU

Übigau is a district within my hometown Dresden in Germany. The picture above is an image taken from the westernmost bridge over the river Elbe (the one which runs right through Dresden). Inspiration was a bicycle ride on an early September morning over that bridge. Weather conditions were terrible - constant drizzle came out of an overclouded sky, but the were also these amazing shades done by the lights of the city and reflecting by the ceiling. That impression forced me to stop for taking a still with my mobile phone. Finally this was the template for this artwork. According to the dominating style of my paintings- abstract fictional compositions - this one is the first which represents a real image! Okay, almost a real image, because the skyline of the city in the background of the artwork doesn't really exist but I decided that it were to boring to further continue these rows of trees on the right-hand shore of the river. Anyway, dimensions are 45,67 inches horizontally while the height is 31,89 inches. If this painting made of acrylic paint on canvas should belong to you, be prepared to let 360,00 € out of your wallet :o)

Übigau ist ein Stadtviertel meiner Heimatstadt Dresden in Deutschland. Das Gemälde zeigt einen Blick von der westlichsten der 7 Brücken über die Elbe; der Fluß, welcher durch Dresden fließt. Die Inspiration zu diesem Werk kam mir an einem frühen Septembermorgen im Jahr 2006, als ich mit meinem Fahrrad über erwähnte Brücke fuhr. An diesem Morgen waren die klimatischen Bedingungen alles andere als lebensbejahend - Sprühregen bei circa 8°Celsius. Aber die von der geschlossenen Wolkendecke reflektierten Lichter der Stadt im Morgengrauen schufen ein fast surreales Szenario am Himmel, so dass ich mit meinem Handy ein Bild davon schoss, um es schließlich als Vorlage für 'Übigau' zu verwenden. Im Gegensatz zu meinen sonst hauptsächlich abstrakten Bildern ist dies eine meiner wenigen realistischen Darstellungen - bis auf die Stadtsilhouette im Hintergrund. Diese existiert so wie dargestellt nicht wirklich; doch hätte ich die Baum- und Strauchreihen auf der rechten Uferseite des Flusses wie in der Realität widergegeben, so wäre dem Bild wohl jegliche vertikale Spannung abhanden gekommen. Wie auch immer, das Werk ist wiederum im französischen Format (diesmal 116cmx81cm) mit Acrylfarbe auf Leinwand auf Keilrahmen gearbeitet. Zu erwerben für 360,00 €.

LONG DISTANCE PUBLIC TRANSPORT CONNECTIONS

Another one which does not exist anymore - damaged and destroyed by fire in the place of origin at the (meanwhile) former appartement of one of my best female friends. One of my early works (done in 2005) - very colourful interpretation of transurban traffic in the squared size of 31,5 inches per side. Acrylic paint on canvas.

Auch diese Interpretation transurbaner Mobilität existiert leider nicht mehr. Das Bild war ein Geburtstagsgeschenk an eine meiner besten Freundinnen, wurde aber durch einen Brand in ihrer (mittlerweile) ehemaligen Wohnung dermaßen beschädigt, dass es nicht mehr restaurierbar war. Long Distance Public Transport Connections stellt eines meiner Frühwerke dar - mit Acrylfarbe auf einer quadratischen Leinwand (Kantenlänge 80cm) gefertigt.

WATCHING THE WILDLIFE II

Watching the wildlife II does not exist anymore - painted by myself on a female friends fuse boxes door - the one was removed by this woman during cleaning her place but accidentally using just an too aggressive cleaning product for this one. Sad but true. At least I took a shot of this so I can share it with you... Besides, do you discover the three animal characters hidden in this picture?

Watching the wildlife II existiert leider nur noch in dieser Fotografie.. Ich hatte diese Komposition auf die Tür eines Sicherungskastens in der Wohnung einer Freundin mit wasserfestem Faserstift gemalt - unglücklicherweise benutzte sie aber bei ihrem nächsten Wohnungsputz ein zu aggressives Reinigungsmittel. Traurig, aber wahr. Wenigstens gibt es aber noch diese Abbildung des Werks! Übrigens, wer findet die drei in diesem Bild versteckten Tierdarstellungen?

SWIRLWOOD

Swirlwood is just another miniature of a spontaneous intense. Its size of 3,94 inches horizontally to 5,91 inches vertically shows an expressive interpretation of what you maybe would call the so-called deep forest. Made of acrylic paint on canvas on wooden plate it is available for just 20,00€.

Swirlwood ist eine weitere Miniatur - nur 10cm breit bei einer Höhe von 15cm - mit einer an den expressionistischen Malstil angelehnten Darstellung eines nächtlichen Waldstücks. TRANSIT I

Another one which is already in private property. Made this one with acrylic paint on canvas. Often used size parameters are once again 31,5 inches wide and about 40,00 inches high. This one was a present for my girlfriend at her latest birthday last year.

Transit I ist ein weiteres Stück meiner Kollektion, welches sich bereits in Privatbesitz befindet und somit auch nicht zur Veräußerung bereit steht. Im gebräuchlichen Format 80x100cm mit Acrylfarbe auf Leinwand auf Keilrahmen war das Bild ein Geschenk an meine Freundin zu ihrem letzten Geburtstag.

CLOCKWORK ORANGE

Not yet one of my faves - took too long to get finished and the basic idea, this picture was meant to be refered to, got lost. Unfortunately I couldn't really express what I was trying to through that. Anyway, now it exists in a size of 31,5 inches wide and almost 40 inches high. As well it is still available at the amount of 320,00€. Made from acrylic paint on canvas.

Das Werk gehört nicht unbedingt zu meinen persönlichen Favoriten, ging doch hier die ursprüngliche Konzeption etwas aus den Augen verloren, womit das vorliegende Ergebnis eher am Sujet vorbeizielt. Nichtdestotrotz ist das in der Größe 80cm (Breite) x 100cm (Höhe) mit Acrylfarbe auf Leinwand auf Keilrahmen gezogene Bild zum Preis von 320,00€ käuflich erwerbbar.

WATCHING THE WILDLIFE I

When I was starting drawing and painting pictures in 2005, my intentions were focused on tribal-tattoo referenced illustrations as the one beside. This early work with the catalogue number 0002 tries to point out the dynamic of the wildlife . But the structures of this drawing also wanted to express the complexity of the earth's biota. On a ground of cardboard I mixed pencil, felt-tip- as well as fat-tip pen. Size is A4 in landscape format. Not to forget to mention the price of this one: it's 42€, including a picture frame.

Als ich 2005 begann, zum Ausgleich zu meinen Professionen zu malen und zu zeichnen, beschränkte ich mich zunächst auf die Darstellung sogenannter "Tribal-Muster". Dieses in meinem Oevre unter 0002 katalogisierte Werk versucht, einerseits die ungerichtete Dynamik von Flora Fauna, gleichzeitig aber auch ihre Komplexität und Interdependenz aufzugreifen. Auf Karton im weitverbreiteten DIN-A4-Querformat bildet das Kolorit eine Mischung aus Blei-, Fett- und Faserstiften. Der Listenpreis von 42€ versteht sich hier inklusive Rahmung in einem einfachen Glasbilderhalter mit Passepartout.
